About Next-Gen-BIoTech EDIH
In 2020, Next-Gen-BIoTech was established as a regional Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) in South Center region in Bulgaria of diverse stakeholders with a mission to contribute to the sustainability and competitiveness of the regional economy through digital solutions in biotechnology and healthy living industries.
Next-Gen-BIoTech has been approved the European Commission (DG CNECT) of the Digital Europe Programme along with 135 other hubs, it is part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) network and it is funded by the “Digital Europe 2021-2027” programme. By .
One-stop shop for digitalization services
Next-Gen-BIoTech EDIH will function as one-stop shops that help companies dynamically respond to the digital challenges and become more competitive.
By providing access to technical expertise and experimentation as well as the possibility to 'test before invest', Next-Gen-BIoTech EDIH help companies improve business/production processes, products, or services using digital technologies. Next-Gen-BIoTech also provide innovation services, such as financing advice, training, and skills development that are needed for a successful digital transformation. Environmental issues are also taken into account, in particular with regard to energy consumption and low carbon emissions.
Test before invest
Through Next-Gen-BIoTech EDIH, companies will have access to specialized support to understand how digital technologies affect bio-based industries and how to define and implement their digital transformation plan. This is a space for training and experimentation ("test before invest") in digital technologies for companies.
Digital maturity assessment
The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission has developed a Digital Maturity Assessment which should be used by all EDIHs to measure the progress of Digital Maturity of the organisations which they supported.
